Many healthcare professionals can take care of basic blood problems such as simple anaemia, but more complex or unusual blood conditions are dealt with by the haematology team. We look after patients requiring regular blood transfusion due to bone marrow problems such as myelodysplasia. We also perform venesection on patients who have too much blood and we are also able to assess any unusual bleeding or clotting problems.
