Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

A baby must make many physical adjustments to life outside the mother's body. Before birth, a baby’s breathing, eating, elimination of waste, and immune protection all come from the mother.

When a baby enters the world, many body systems change dramatically from the way they worked during foetal life.

Sometimes, a baby has trouble making the transition to the world. Prematurity, a difficult delivery, or birth defects can make these changes more challenging. Fortunately for these babies, special new-born care is available.

The NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at Udbhava Hospital takes care of new-born babies who need intensive medical attention immediately after delivery. The NICU combines both technology and adequately trained professionals to provide specialized care to the little ones.

At Udbhava, we have special team of doctors who will take good care of your baby. Our NICU consists of neonatologists, paediatric residents, respiratory therapists, dieticians, lactation consultants and nurses who are always on standby.

In the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), there are many machines and other types of equipment used to care for sick babies with many different problems.
